EDT 660 Second Post Assignment One

Hi Dr. Ranes,

I was able to properly convert and insert a YouTube video, onto my classroom blog; however, I am not sure if I was successful inserting a video onto a PPT. I used PPT Online through my MSN account. When I tried to insert a video, onto the PPT, PPT online automatically brings up a YouTube search engine and uploads the video onto PPT on its own, so there was no converting necessary. In the end, I am not sure if I was successful or not, when inserting a video onto PPT, because it converts it for you.

Sincerely,
Melissa Abbott

Cell Biology: Cells & Energy

Subject Area/Content Standard
  • Science Standard: Cell Biology
    • 1d. Students know that mitochondria liberate energy for the work that cells do and that chloroplasts capture sunlight energy for photosynthesis.

Watch the video below to help you better understand the importance of cell organelles and their function.

Remember
  • Recall that plants and animal cells have similar organelles.
  • Recognize that plant and animal cells both have a mitochondria.
Understanding
  • Identify which organelle, in animal cells, generates energy and liberates energy to other organelles?
  • Identify which organelle, in plant cells, generates energy and liberates energy to other organelles?
  • Identify which organelle, in plant cells, takes in sunlight for photosynthesis?
  • Predict what would happen if the mitochondria and the chloroplasts were to not function at all?
Evaluate
  • Justify how they are valuable.
